Nazreth Shushroosha Bhavan – Elderly Women Care Home

Nazreth Shushroosha Bhavan is a charitable initiative of the Little Sisters of Christ, dedicated to serving elderly and infirm women who are destitute, rejected, or forgotten by society. Rooted in the spirituality of Nazareth, this home stands as a living witness to compassion, dignity, and loving care.

The charitable society “Shushroosha Bhavan” was established in July 2004 by the writer and others with the heartfelt intention of caring for those who had no one to care for them. The institution was blessed at its inception by the respected Perumthottam Pithav, marking the beginning of a mission grounded in faith and service.
The home began humbly with five residents. In September 2005, it moved to a new house, where it initially accommodated seven residents. Over the years, through God’s abundant grace and the generous support of well-wishers, the home continued to grow. Today, 16 residents live here peacefully, experiencing love, security, and a sense of belonging.

A major milestone in the journey of Nazreth Shushroosha Bhavan was the blessing of the building on 13 October 2009, conducted by the priest. This moment reaffirmed our commitment to serve the weakest with renewed dedication.
The residents receive regular medical care and attention. Visiting doctors provide consultations, monitor health conditions, and ensure timely medical support, helping each resident live with comfort and dignity.
At Nazreth Shushroosha Bhavan, service goes beyond meeting physical needs. The home offers a family atmosphere where every resident is treated with respect, love, prayerful support, and compassion. Guided by the Gospel spirit, the Little Sisters of Christ strive to make this home a place of healing, hope, and peace.
